PlanIt Wed and Chick Bosses are hosting a Social Media Bootcamp Tuesday May 12 from 9-3 at the WT Enterprise Center, 2300 N Western St in Amarillo. Cost is $75 per person, and includes lunch. Dr. Nick Gerlich, the Hickman Professor of Marketing at West Texas A&M University, is the featured speaker.
“This will be an intensive, hands-on day for anyone wishing to leverage social media in their business,” said Parie Donaldson, owner and founder of PlanIt Wed. “We especially invite those in the restaurant industry, service providers, wedding-related businesses, retail, lifestyle shops, and other locally-owned enterprises.”
Participants should already have a website for their business, as well as experience using Facebook and other social media with personal accounts. Any other experience is a plus. This will ensure that the level of instruction can quickly progress to more advanced applications.
“Content is king in social media,” stated Gerlich. “We will be examining the different types of content that are critical for social media success, along with scheduling, cross-posting, and use of images, links, and videos. Finally, we will explore different advertising techniques and analytics associated with social media sites like Facebook”
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet device to the seminar, so that they can apply concepts during instruction. Wifi is available at the WT Enterprise Center.
